Hello there! It's not my usual kind of content here (I will take the poll's consideration of course, I have a lot of ideas); but I want to do a little exception. Yesterday after a lot talking in twitter and between latin Hetalia and Hetalia fandoms I decided to create this OC.

Headcanons under the cut!

-Although it was sighted around 1500, a fact disputed between Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands, its continent was not set foot on until 1820, and the English planted a flag (aka. the boatman William Smith got lost going to Valparaíso. Neither his crew nor he survived, clearly ). -It never had indigenous people, so its registered existence dates from the 19th century. Its real population is 4000 people throughout the year from all over the world. -He does not have "parents", but multiple guardians. They were getting to know it in the so-called "Antarctic Expeditions" -It does not have a human name, but some call it Aurora Australis in relation to Terra Australis, the first name given to their region from Europe. He speaks in whispers and is not very expressive. He has a scientific and analytical mind, and has a quick temper. (If you want to give it a more supernatural variant) -He has the ability to transmit thoughts clearer than his voice. -She always breathes with steam, and wherever she is, the temperature inevitably reaches zero. The touch is icy and if he cries or gets angry, it snows. -He has a twin brother, Artica Borealis, the North Pole. To end the Ice Age, Pangea separated them from her bosom and placed them at the ends of the world, so that the world thawed and the seas receded. They both have a scar on their arm where they were glued. -The auroras that humans see due to the magnetic reaction of the Earth are part of the threads that compose them, and are reflected in the color of their eyes. -She has traces of flakes in her hair. -Even though she doesn't see him much, she enjoys the sun. It has a similar longing to Russia.

Hello, I’m here about your Antarctica Concept. What if, since there’s no official language for Antarctica, they’re a mute, and later learned sign language

Antarctica also isn't an independent nation, though many nations claim parts of it. The best anyone can say is that it has research stations, the ones that are permanent being the only ones that could justify a personification in the first place. You can look those up on Wikipedia pretty easily!

So if our potential "Antarctica" was bound to one or all research stations, it'd make sense for them to speak whichever language those researchers spoke. Maybe the most prominent one, the one first spoken there, maybe just all of them.

I like your idea, it just doesn't really fit with how my interpretation of nations works! It was kind of a joke, the original post, but now I'm kinda invested.

(edit: not to mention that you'd still need to choose a sign language for them to speak. Which, that'd work! But we still need to differenciate.)
